A word on portraiture

 Photographing people has become one of my favorite things. You can definitely get a lot out of a stranger, and it's always fun to catch people candid. Something I've learned is the importance and greatness, for lack of a better word, of knowing or getting to know a subject (even a stranger).  

Photographs tell a story. Portraits, in my opinion, definitely share a life, even if sometimes people are making up the story as they observe and interpret an image, they've recognized something in that image that opened their eyes.

Away we go

This is one of my favorite new images. I have my moments of falling out, but it's great to get back into the groove. I love seeing something and going for it and the result being just what I'd hoped for. This person is a total stranger, I was just shooting along fifth ave right along Central Park, observing the world.
